Back in NYC

Monday June 18- Congrats to Karen & Brian on the birth of baby Adam Joseph. He weighed 9lbs, 3 oz- We are so glad everyone is heathy. We can’t wait to meet him. He sure is beautiful

Tuesday June 19-friday June 22: Allie and her friends, Gina & Allison came to visit.

They were busy sight seeing and buying fake purses.  I have to admit that I was nervous to be responsible for 3 beautiful 18/19 year-olds, but they behaved themselves & I just went to bed early (now I know why my parents do that). They even let me go to dinner with them (kind of like the cougar & the kittens- ha ha).

Took Charlie to soccer on tuesday… all of the other kids in the class were sitting nicely, listening to the coaches. Not my son- no, he was bouncing off the walls (literally)- running back and forth throwing himself into the wall, falling on the ground, laughing, and then running to the other side (luckily the walls are padded).  What am I going to do with him???

Thursday June 21- Bill & I went on a date to see “Knocked Up”- pretty funny, but the labor scene was like a bad flashback…

We had a great weekend Sat & Sun relaxing and exploring the city. We walked to Chelsea Piers where we saw them hitting golf balls (only in NYC would it be like this)

We also went bowling. This was the first time Charlie had ever seen bowling- he loved it (of course, the kid loves anything with a ball). He did such a good job taking turns with mama & dada- he tried rolling the ball himself- it was very cute & very fun

Fiesta!

Monday June 6- our lives have changed…. Charlie climbed out of his crib today! YIKES! What do we do now? Why do I have to have the older kid and all my friends have babies??? I need some advice. He didn’t even fall or anything, just came walking down the hallway- OH NO! 

Tuesday June 5- Charlie started soccer at his little school for the summer. He loves it and runs around the house saying “kick”.  I saw Christopher from the Sopranos again today- he’s pretty handsome. Can’t wait for the finale. I have to admit, I’m feeling sad about the show ending…

So Charlie started doing this adorable thing when it’s nap/bed time- He puts all of his cars to sleep- so cute!

He climbed out of the crib again today, but hurt himself- (he’s really ok, just scared). I’m hoping he won’t try it again… We’ve been talking about it a lot lately and how he just needs to call us and we will come- so I’ve been setting my alarm to wake up earlier than him so I can run in before he jumps…

Thursday June 7- took Charlie to the dr. for his 2 year check-up… We knew he was tall, but were surprised to hear he’s in the 97% for height & 79% for weight- he’s a giant! I guess you can survive and grow on a diet of waffles :)

Friday June 8- Scott & Julie aka “jujuott” (kind of like Bradjolina) arrived from Cincy to visit & watch Charlie for the weekend. As soon as he saw them, he turned to me and said “bye bye mama”. Thanks!

So far so good on the crib climbing the last few days- keep your fingers crossed for us! So last week Charlie discovered freckles, well this week he is trying to pick them off- pretty funny! He’s been doing lots of singing lately- his favorites are “backpack” & “map” from Dora, “wheels on the bus”, & “rain, rain go away”- I can’t get enough.

June 9-12- Bill & I went to Playa del Carmen, Mexico with the Scuglik’s for a few days of fun. The hotel was great- Iberostar Maya. We had a great time relaxing, eating, drinking & laughing. Thanks Scuglik’s for inviting us!

June 15-17- Charlie & I went to Chicago to celebrate Father’s Day with my family. My Aunt Gina & Uncle Lou have this great Lake House near Rockford. We had so much fun boating, drinking, eating & laughing. It was great to see my family. Charlie played baseball (for hours) and hung out with Bailey the dog. Bill went to Myrtle Beach with his buddies. Happy Father’s day to everyone!

On our flight home we had celebrity sighting #  13 1/2: Ana Gasteyer- I didn’t know her name, but definitely recognized her- she was on Saturday Night Live for years. She is also in Wicked.

Our favorite people

What a fun 10 days we had visiting all of our favorite people…

FLORIDA (May 24-30): We had a great time spending time with Papa Tom, g-ma Karyn, Aunt Aamie & Uncle Aaron. They helped us get our FL house organized.

We also had a great visit with Kelly & Tony!

CINCINNATI (May 30-June 1): How we miss cincy & all of our friends… It was so wonderful to spend time with everyone. We had a great grown-ups only dinner at Tellers & a cookout at the Greenwell’s.

 The boys played golf and went to softball. I got to see all of my friends from work. Thanks to the Scuglik’s who let us stay with them & Sam for sharing his toys with Charlie. We can’t wait to move back!!!!
