Hello everyone- The last few weeks have flown by… Here’s what we’ve been up to-
Tuesday March 27- Went to the Central Park zoo with Amanda and Grace. It took us 40 min to get there in a cab… YIKES. The zoo is beautiful, old buildings in Central Park. It’s small but nice for an hour or too. We decided to be adventurous and take the subway home. I had the big stroller “BOB” because we forgot our other stroller in
FL- anyway this made things a bit tricky to try and pick it up with Charlie in it and go down and up lots of stairs. Luckily I asked random men and they helped me. We got on an express train that only stops at the bigger stops, so it’s much faster. Amanda and Grace got off at their stop and we said our good-byes. Next thing I knew we were above ground and going over a huge bridge- Holy Crap we are leaving
Manhattan. The next stop was in Brooklyn- for some reason I had the misconception that
Brooklyn was really far away- it really isn’t, so we got back on the correct train and made it home- an hour later

Wednesday March 28- Bill invited me to his office “bowling night”… I know- Nerdy. But I’m always up for a night out- so luckily Amanda and Jay’s girlfriend, Erin went too. It was at this fancy bowling alley (I know you are thinking that’s not possible, but it actually is). It was like a trendy bar with bowling alleys- it’s 2 floors, dark, big bar, pretty cool. We met some of the workers and then found out that we (the girls) really weren’t invited and that it was a “team building” activity and teams were already made up, so we couldn’t bowl. Oh, well- we went to the bar instead. Still was a fun night out even if we weren’t supposed to be there.
The rest of the week/weekend Charlie was stick with some scary virus- he was wheezing on Thursday and had to go to the doctor and get a breathing treatment. So it was 4 days of whining, crying, shuffling around (very funny if you’ve seen it), not eating, not sleeping thru the night….

Monday April 2- Charlie is still a sick little puppy. We went to the doctor again and his breathing is better, but now has a fever… another fun day with the big crab.
Tuesday April 3- Still not feeling well- everything is major drama; getting dressed, combing his hair, putting on his coat, putting him in the highchair- all make him cry. We had ordered circus tickets a few weeks ago, so the mean-old parents attempted a “fun family night out”. We met Pat, Amanda & Grace for dinner at a great place near our house, Bubby’s. Charlie threw his toys at me and only wanted to eat a chocolate chip cookie (so that was his dinner). But the dinner wasn’t a total bust, Pat spotted celebrity sighting #5 1/2 ……
John Stewart with his son eating a few tables away.
Then we went to the circus which was atMadison
Square
Garden. The place was crazy with thousands of kids and their parents- kids begging for $22 (yes $22) glow/spinning things, elephant drinks, light up tiaras… Charlie and Grace were into it for about 1 hour (including the 30 min before it started) and then Grace thought it was more fun to pull the kid’s hair in front of us and Charlie was trying to steal the lady’s phone in front of us, so we left… Note to self- not a good idea to take a kid under 3 to the circus… oh well- maybe next year.

Wed April 4- King crab of the world, Charlie, whined/laid on the floor all morning. He hasn’t eaten anything besides a chocolate chip cookie, some pretzels & 1 waffle in 3 days. I took him to the doctor in the pouring, freezing rain- it turns out now he has an ear infection. The kid never took any medicine and never went to the doctor before we moved here- and he’s been sick since we got here… what’s the deal? So hopefully the medicine will make him better soon.
Thursday April 5- Sunday April 8: Went to Sea World in Orlando for a family weekend getaway and for Easter. Charlie felt a bit better each day- he wasn’t crazy about Sea World- it was a beautiful day, but most of the attractions were either too crowded for him to be able to see anything or they were shows, which required waiting, which doesn’t go over well for Charlie- so we were there a few hours and then back for his nap. We stayed at an awesome hotel with a lazy river and great pools. Charlie’s favorite thing to do was play in the sandbox. I think that’s because the sandbox here in NYC is always so crowded that the kids steal his toys and knock him down so he was happy to have the playground and sandbox all to himself. We got to spend some time with Papa Tom, Aunt Aamie & Grandma Karyn. Went to Epcot one night even though we said no Disney Parks (but someone begged and begged and couldn’t resist- hint wasn’t me or Charlie) so we went one evening with Aunt Aamie, Charlie, me & the disney lover. It was really fun- they have a new Nemo ride Charlie loved and we loved drinking around the world.
