March 19-25 pretty uneventful week- not much to report other than Charlie and I saw Law & Order being taped by the financial district (I don’t watch the show so it I didn’t stalk). Wednesday night March 21: Bill and I went to a dinner at Gyu-Kaku- It was a Japanese BBQ place- very fun- it’s kinda a mix between House of Kobe (region shout-out) and Fondue.
You sit at a table that has a grill in the middle and order different meats, seafood, veggies, etc and grill them yourself at the table- It was really good.
Thursday Bill called from work and asked if I wanted to go to Florida for the weekend (hmmm let me think about it… YES). We have been thinking about going to look to buy a rental property and there were cheap tickets… Anyway so I pulled out Charlie’s summer clothes to try on and I put his bathing suit on and then took it off and he starting bawling hysterically. I asked him what was wrong and he grabbed his bathing suit and said “pool, pool”. He thought we were going right then… Poor guy- but pretty funny.
Friday: flew to FL- got bumped off our 9:40 flight and had to wait 3 hours in the airport with the maniac (Charlie, not Bill). Finally took the 12:40 flight- luckily Charlie slept on the flight. Beautiful day in sunny FL.
Charlie was so happy to see Grandma Karyn, Papa Tom, aunt Aamie &Bobby, and of course the pool.
Saturday we looked at houses all day and found a really cute house about 10 min walk from the
beach and it even has a pool! We are going to use it when we visit & rent it out. I’m already thinking, girl’s weekend .
Charlie’s new words from the weekend: “beach”, “Florida”, “sun”, “shell”. He loved the pool & the beach. He would wake up from his naps and in the morning screaming “pool, pool”. Papa Tom took him in the pool in his pjs one morning at 7:30 b/c he wouldn’t stop begging.

Wednesday March 14- Charlie’s babysitter from Cincy, Julie and her boyfriend, Scott came to visit- boy did we miss them. Charlie was so happy to see “Juju” and “Ot”. We took them to Little Italy for dinner and on our walk home we noticed a bunch of movie trailers and crew around- we found out that they were taping SOPRANOS right on Mulberry Street. So of course we ran over to stalk. We just missed one scene and saw a practice run of another shot- I made friends with one of the sound guys who informed me that was one of the last scenes of the very last Sopranos episode ever!!!! Wow- we were really excited by this- awesome- NYC is an amazing place that you see this on your walk home from dinner. CRAZY.
Thursday March 15- Walk around Ground Zero with Julie & Scott. The weather was rainy and nasty so we hung around at the apartment.
Friday March 16-Sunday March 18: Bill and I go on a weekend getaway to
Washington DC while Julie & Scott watched Charlie. Friday is was sooo cold and rained/sleeted the ENTIRE day.
Delicious

dinner at a delicious restaurant, Café Atlantico- the best part was the mojito- they bring you a martini glass full of cotton candy and they pour the liquid part over it- so good & so fun! Saturday- freezing cold (34 degrees). We took a trolley tour which was fun and bar hopped watching basketball & celebrating St. Patrick’s day. Another fantastic dinner at Zaytinya a greet restaurant-very hip & trendy. Thanks to my friend from high school, Megan who lives in DC for the tasty restaurant recommendations- which you had been in town!Sunday we returned to NYC to a baby with the flu- luckily for us Julie & Scott had him when things were really nasty- sorry J&S. Julie and Scott went out that night, but soon returned b/c Julie had the flu now- YIKES-
Thanks Julie & Scott for taking such great care of Charlie- Bill & I had a great weekend away!

Monday March 6: Shopping with my mom and Allie (yes Allie got to
miss
school- this would have never happened when I was her age). Girl’s night on the town: drinks and dinner in the
Meat
Packing
District- so much fun- such a great visit with my mom and sister- THANKS FOR VISITING
Tuesday/Wed March 7-8: too cold to go outside, very long days… ahhhh! Bill sick and home from work- he’s not a very good patient- very dramatic when he is sick (now I know where Charlie gets it)!
Thursday March 8: We were playing at Charlie’s school when he starting playing with these 2 other little boys that are brothers… well the mom starting talking to me (I know, a big moment for me, I have to admit I was a bit nervous). Anyway she asked me if I would like to come over for a playdate…. WOW! I felt like I was talking to a boy for the first time J So she gave me her card (I know, weird- not sure if this is a
New York thing or what). So I’m thinking I will call her next week…
Friday night: out with Pat & Amanda, Jay, and 4 of P&A’s friends- fun night out. We ate at Los Caminos in
Soho, which I just read in PEOPLE today that Jessica Simpson ate there March 1-
Saturday night out for dinner with Pat, Amanda, Grace, Jay and a bunch of Pat’s friends to Little Italy- I could eat here every night. How awesome to walk to Little Itay!
Sunday March 11 afternoon- CELEBRITY SIGHTING 4 ½ ……. Across the street from our apt, getting into a taxi with his wife and 2 sons…. Michael Imperioli (Christopher Moltisanti from Sopranos-young guy that helps Tony)- COOL! Bill was psyched- his 1st sighting.
Charlie moment of the week: Charlie has a new thing he does to every kid he sees- he goes up to them and points in their face and shouts, “NO”. Not sure where this came from, but the other kids and mom’s are not enjoying it. We are trying to work on saying “hello” instead.

Monday 26- dinner with Karen Kase at Edward’s for Cincinnati night. Karen ate a 3 way and I had Graters ice cream. We miss all of our Cincinnati friends so much L Karen told us all about her week in Vegas and the NBA All Star weekend- lots of celebrity sightings.
Tuesday 27- Patrick, Amanda & Grace moved to NYC. We are so happy they are here. They stayed with us and Charlie took his first bath with a girl.
Very cute, but I told them they are not allowed to do this when they’re 18. By the end of the night they were friends and he was calling her “gigi”.
Wednesday 28- Found out this morning that my sister, Allie suckered my mom into coming to visit this weekend (“I never get to see my sister and my nephew…) Man, she is good J
Date night with my man… Drinks at a bar nearMadison
Square
Garden where we had celebrity sighting #3 ½ (not a real celebrity, so it only gets ½)……
Stacy London (from the show “What Not to Wear” on TLC)… ok so I told you it was only ½ . We then went to see John Mayer at Madison Square-great show and the best part was that they have beer guys that bring drinks to your seats- NYC is great!
Saturday March 3: Allie & my mom arrive, Matty and his friend come in town, and my parent’s friends, Mike & Chris were in town and came over for a visit. We all went for drinks and then dinner (Mexican, too many margaritas, someone was over-served… won’t reveal any more… what happens in NYC stays in NYC) (let’s just say that this person has a history of problems with margaritas)
Sunday March 4: lazy day of recovering, dinner in Little Italy: Pat, Amanda, Grace, and Jay join us. We got to see The Gavin’s fantastic Soho apartment- very cool AND Nicholas Cage, Sophia Copola, and Molly Sims all live in their building- AWESOME!
