Happy to be back in Cincy

We are so happy to be back. We are getting settled and it’s starting to feel like our home.

Another move

May 7: Well we loaded up our car and drove for 2 very long days to Cincinnati. We are so happy to be back!

Our new house looks great, it’s just going to take lots of work to get settled. Thank goodness for my family who came and helped us. We wouldn’t have be able to do it without you.

May 1-6

We are enjoying our last few days in FL- taking in as much sun and fun before the big move.

After 4 1/2 months, I finally finished my shell mirror-

Big boy bed

Well, Charlie is officially sleeping in a big boy bed. I know this will come as a shock to some of you who thought we would make our kid sleep in a crib until he was 5, but we finally did it

He just loved his crib so much and never climbed out so we didn’t move him into a big bed…

We figured since he is almost 3 and all of our friends with 18 month olds are sleeping in big beds, it was finally time.

He did great- he is still afraid to get out of his big bed and just stands up in it and call for us-

April 7-25

Funny Charlie stories:

The other day Charlie said something and I started laughing and he said, “That’s not funny, it’s serious”.

Charlie was at grandma Karyn’s house and he went upstairs. She went up to check on him and he was sitting at her computer. She asked him what he was doing, and he said, “I’m checking my email”.

The potty training is going well- he seems to have gotten it, but is very funny about things. When he is making a #2, he sits on the potty and with a very serious face says, “sometimes poop hurts my butt… I take my time… I take my time” HILARIOUS! (sorry that may have been TMI for some of you, but i think it’s funny).

April 16-20 Charlie, Mimi & I go to Sanibel Island to get out of the house for Bill’s boy’s golf weekend.

It was so beautiful here. The water is shallow and we found tons of shells. This is a great place for family trips.

Key West

April 2-6:

We decided to take a little road trip and head to the keys.

We stopped at Marco Island on Wed April 2 to visit the DiMaggios who were on Spring Break. We had a great dinner with them and they let us crash at their place- thanks for a fun visit guys!

Charlie was great in the car (actually it was the best behaved he was all weekend)

Thurs-Sun- we had great trip to Key West. It is so beautiful there. The water is amazing. Charlie the devil came on the trip so we had to perfom a few exorcisms on the trip. Bill and I managed to get plenty of drinking in- you can walk around everywhere with a drink! We had a great time….

Why we are not winning “Parents of the Year”

1. While on the glass-bottom boat ride, we were heading back to the dock and a guy on the dock was lifting up his shirt shouting, “Show us your t*ts”

2. While waiting for our table at a restaurant, Bill yelled “No Charlie” and I turned around to find my son with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth.

3. Within 1 hour of checking into our hotel room, the front desk called to “check if everything was ok” because they received 2 calls from the people below us that it sounded like people were jumping off the bed.

4. We took Charlie into Sloppy Joe’s (bar) and let him watch a movie on his dvd player while we drank and listened to the band.

5. We allowed Charlie to watch the street performers eat & play with fire and knives- (we did have a talk about this afterward)

Key West is a beautiful & fun place- next time we’ll go alone or with other couples so we can have even more fun!

March 16-31

We continue to have a busy March- we are having so much fun…

March 16: There was a big St. Patrick’s Day parade here on the island. It was so much fun. There were bands, floats, a pirate ship, and even an elephant. So cool.

Funny Charlie stories:

Charlie woke up today from his nap and said “My butt had a bad dream”. Pretty funny…

He is very confused with all of the different holidays… He randomly says, “Happy Patrick Day”. After I tell him that is over he tries, “Happy Valentine Day” or “Merry Christmas”… He’s not sure what is going on. He just likes all of the treats and cards he has been getting.

March 21: Charlie and Lily (my friend from high school, Amy Henderlong’s daughter)had a fun day at Jungle Gardens- they had an egg hunt

March 22: Busch Gardens- we didn’t let the rain stop us from having fun

March 23: Hoppy Easter!!!! Charlie had so much fun having an egg hunt that he kept hiding his own eggs all day.

he was so exciting to get Buzz Lightyear- it’s like we have another member in our family. When he gets in BIG trouble, we take Buzz away & while Charlie is crying, he manages to get out, “put his helmet down”. (sad, but funny)

Big news:

Congrats to Colleen, Glen & Cole- Baby Chase was born March 29- can’t wait to see some pictures!

Congrats to the Schwendeman family- they bought a new house in Mt. Lookout- so happy to have them close by!

Congrats to the Gavin’s who are expecting a baby at the end of Aug!

Gavin’s visit

March 14-16: Gavin’s come to visit

We had so much fun with the Gavin’s. Charlie & Grace had a love/hate relationship. One minute they were hugging, the next the were having a “yes/no” battle, the next the were ripping toys out of eachother’s hands… It was entertaining to watch.

Spring Break

March 1-13

It’s getting crowded here with all of the Spring Breakers… We are having so much fun in Florida.

March 7: We tried to go to the Pirates vs. Reds Spring Training game, but it got rained out. Charlie still had a great time eating skittles & watching fireworks.

March 8- We checked out the Ringling Museum. We were hesitant to go there, how great could a circus museum be??? We were wrong, it was great. It’s in Sarasota located on beautiful grounds right on the bay. There are a couple different museums: miniature circus museum (huge mini circus to look at- soooo cool), circus museum (costumes & things from the original circus), art museum (didn’t go in there), and thier mansion (so beautiful). It was a great day.

March 9-13: Mimi & Allie come to visit. Allie suckered my mom into taking her to FL for her Spring Break. We had so much fun relaxing, swimming, eating… We had a crazy girls’ night out- let’s just say the night ended with a ride home in a police car (enough said). I’m too old to hang out with them
